Give Back Vancouver

Program Rundown

From our beginnings in Portland, Oregon to our current location in Vancouver, Washington, McSteven's has always valued the communities we operate in. In 2022 the team here at McSteven's decided to start our own community program called Give Back Vancouver! Every quarter, we select a local organization and donate a portion of all retail proceeds to them. We love each organization we get to work with, big and small! Below you can see some of the organizations we've paired with since the start of our Give Back Vancouver program.

Founded in Portland, OR in 1993, Friends of the Children started their SW Washington chapter in March of 2020 and have been doing wonderful work in our community ever since. They specialize in serving youth struggling with poverty and complex trauma, pairing youth with professional mentors that work intentionally with each child to guide them as they learn and grow, all the way through high school and beyond. Friends of the Children’s main objective is to “strengthen communities by helping children and families break cycles of generational trauma, violence, and poverty.” Check out their website for volunteer opportunities and more:
McSteven's was able to raise $685.00 through our retail website and in-person store for Friends of the Children! This donation will help extend their program in Clark County by increasing the number of kindergarteners admitted into the program! These children will spend time with their mentor going to the library, baking, planting gardens, creating art, riding bikes, learning to canoe, exploring Clark College and more!
The Giving Closet started through Vancouver Church in 2000 and was officially established in 2011 as it's own non-profit. The Giving Closet provides free clothing, household goods and emergency food to those who qualify as low income within the community. The Giving Closet is able to provide these resources by partnering with local school districts, Clark County Food Bank, Boys & Girls Club of SWW, Council for the Homeless, local low income Assisted Living Facilities, Innovative Services, SHARE and many other very dedicated local organizations. Check out ways to volunteer with The Giving Closet here: Volunteer - Giving Closet / Giving Hope
McSteven's $1000.00 donation will help fund The Giving Closet's operational costs so they can keep their doors open to the community.
Harper’s Playground is a local non-profit based in Portland, OR that is making some big and exciting changes in Vancouver, WA. With a mission to inspire vital communities by creating innovative playgrounds for people of all abilities, this organization is raising money to break ground on a brand new inclusive playground right in our own backyard! This playground, located at Marshall Park, will remove physical and social barriers commonly experienced by underserved and underrepresented populations in our community, mainly those with disabilities. It will feature fully accessible and explorable play areas and equipment that capitalize on existing amenities, use long lasting materials, and incorporate nature-based themes.
By stopping by McSteven’s (in-store or online) and making a purchase, our customers were able to help us donate $550.00 to help build all inclusive playgrounds! There are also opportunities to donate directly and volunteer! Visit for more information.
